Applicants with a minimum of 45% marks in the 12th examination for the general category and a minimum of 40% marks for the Other Category are eligible to apply for the CLAT examination.
To apply for CLAT examination : Register Online and fill out the application form on the official website of CLAT - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Choose CLAT exam centre and provide the necessary documents such as a Valid Email Id, Scanned image of a photograph A scanned image of the signature and a Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card) or Net Banking details. Pay the application fee of Rs 4000/- for the General Category & Rs 3,500/- for the SC/ST Category. Download the application form.
The syllabus of CLAT is divided into 5 sections, with a total of 120 questions and each section with different marks weightage.

The exam pattern of CLAT 2024 has changed from previous years. The exam will consist of 120 instead of 150 questions; each mark carries 1 mark, and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

The CLAT admit card is an important document for access to the examination centre. It mentions the candidate's Name, Roll number, examination venue, and timings. The admit cards are available on the Consortium of National Law Universities' official website and can be downloaded by logging in using the user ID and Password.
Don’t forget to check your slot timings and exam centre location 2-3 days before the exam. Bring your Admit card, original photo ID proof and passport-size photos. Do not bring any electronic items or exam hall-prohibited items. Try to reach 15 minutes before the reporting time.
Any technical/electronic items such as earphones/headphones, Watches, Mobile phones, Calculators, Electronic gadgets, Bags and wallets, Stationery items and any Jewellery are prohibited in the exam hall of the CLAT examination.
The CLAT examination is held once a year in December. The exam takes place in one afternoon shift for 2 hours.

The answer key of the CLAT examination is generally released a few days after the examination on the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities. The answer key is released for the candidates to check their performance in the examination and calculate tentative scores.
The results of CLAT UG & PG are announced on the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates can download CLAT 2024 results by visiting the official website of the CLAT examination and logging in using their registered Email ID, Password and DOB. The result will appear and candidates can download the soft copy of their results, and also take a printout of the hard copy.
A decent score for the General Category of the CLAT examination is considered 90 marks or more to get admission to the top NLUs. And 60-70 scores are considered decent scores for the SC/ST category.
