JEE Main 2026 Exam, Entrance Exam | 03-10-2025
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as the gateway for admission to prestigious engineering institutes like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and also as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced for IIT admissions. Every year, the exam is held in multiple sessions to provide flexibility and reduce stress for candidates, and JEE Main 2026 is expected to follow the same structure.
JEE Main 2026 will likely be held in two sessions:
Session 1: January 2026
Session 2: April 2026
This two-phase approach allows students to appear in both attempts, and the best score among the two will be considered for the final merit list.

The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech). However, for Paper 2A (B.Arch) and 2B (B.Planning), drawing tests may be held in pen-and-paper format along with CBT sections.
Each paper will be of 3 hours duration, and the exam will be conducted in two shifts per day:
Shift 1: 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
Shift 2: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Application Window: Likely to open in November 2025 for Session 1 and in February 2026 for Session 2.
Admit Card Release: Around two weeks before the exam date.
Result Declaration: For Session 1 – expected in February 2026, and for Session 2 – by the end of April 2026.
Counselling Process: Conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) tentatively starting in June 2026.
